HVAC Takeoff to CNC Nesting: A Cloud Workflow for Duct Fabricators

Why separate tools slow fabrication down

Many duct shops measure a takeoff in one tool, re-enter it into an estimating spreadsheet, and then rebuild the same parts again in CAM software. Each hand-off adds re-keying and the chance of mismatched sizes.

A single flow in CloudtoCAM

CloudtoCAM is independent, web-based HVAC takeoff software. You import a PDF drawing, trace duct runs, and generate straights and fittings with sizes, connectors and seams. Those same parts are costed and carried forward to panel development.

Panel development and 2D nesting

Each part is unfolded into flat panels, including connector and seam allowances. Panels are then nested onto your sheet sizes to reduce offcuts.

CNC G-code output

Nested sheets are posted as G-code for your cutting machine using a configurable machine post, so output matches your controller rather than a generic format.
